Bordeaux have climbed to third in Ligue 1 with a 2-1 victory over Lens at the Stade de la Licorne.
Baptiste Guillaume sprinted clear of the Bordeaux defence early on, and he looked set to fire the hosts ahead, but his decision to square the ball for Yoann Touzghar allowed Cedric Carrasso to hurry off his line and collect.
Wahbi Khazri broke the deadlock in the 24th minute to hand the advantage to Bordeaux by latching onto Thomas Toure's clever pass before slotting into the bottom corner.
Cheick Diabate doubled the advantage before the break as Khazri turned into the provider with an inch-perfect through-ball for his teammate, who rounded a helpless Valentin Belon before tapping in his fifth of the season.
Despite failing to keep out Bordeaux in the first half, Belon kept Lens in the game after the interval with a fine save from Diabate's powerful effort.
Lens were handed the chance to reduce the deficit in the 74th minute when Marc Planus brought down Pablo Chavarria in the box, allowing Touzghar to pull a goal back from the penalty spot.
However, Bordeaux held firm in the closing stages to secure their first away win since August.
