A solitary first-half goal from Wahbi Khazri was enough to give Bordeaux a slender 1-0 away win over Evian TG this evening.
The result moves Willy Sagnol's men into sixth spot in the Ligue 1 standings, while Evian remain in the bottom three.
Bordeaux stopper Cedric Carrasso was called into action after just two minutes, preventing Mathieu Duhamel from heading Evian into a lead by saving down at his bottom corner.
The save was to be an important one as Bordeaux took the lead in the 11th minute thanks to some standout play from midfielder Khazri, who took aim from distance before thundering an effort into the top-right corner.
Back came Evian with a long-range effort of their own as Cedric Barbosa almost pulled off another wonder-goal, only for Carrasso to save well down low just before the break.
In a second half of very few chances, the best was to fall to Evian's Gilles Sunu, who headed wide of the target from Dany Nounkeu's cross to leave Bordeaux to run away with all three points.
