Bordeaux have succumbed to a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of surprise package Caen in Sunday's Ligue 1 clash at the Nouveau Stade Bordeaux.
Syam Ben Youssef opened the scoring for the visitors in the sixth minute when he drilled a low shot down the middle of the goal following a corner.
The hosts held firm until the break but found themselves in the mire in the second half as Caen scored two goals in the space of five minutes.
First Damien Da Silva made the most of lacklustre defending from another set piece to fire home in the 56th minute, then goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso fumbled a shot into his own net just after the hour.
Things got even worse for Bordeaux as Andy Delort added a fourth before Andre Biyogo Poko was shown red following a second bookable offence late on in the game, but they did manage a consolation through Enzo Crivelli at the death.
The result sees Bordeaux slip to 14th in the Ligue 1 table, while Caen rise to second place, albeit 13 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
