Lyon have climbed up to second in Ligue 1 thanks to an emphatic 5-0 triumph over 10-man Bordeaux.
It could have been a very different evening had Bordeaux taken a great chance in the fourth minute, but Cheick Diabate was unable to send his header past Anthony Lopes, who made a fine save to keep Lyon on level terms.
Diabate went close again when his powerful strike drifted just wide from a tight angle as Lyon survived an extended spell of early pressure.
Lyon improved as the first half progressed, and they broke the deadlock just before the break when Alexandre Lacazette curled home after sprinting clear of the Bordeaux defence.
The visitors doubled their advantage after the interval when Lacazette intercepted Ludovic Sane's poor pass before picking out Corentin Tolisso, who finished confidently past Cedric Carrasso.
Bordeaux's hopes of getting back into the game were dealt a blow when they were reduced to 10 men as Nicolas Pallois was harshly given a red card for a challenge on Clinton N'Jie.
Lyon put the result beyond doubt late on when Nabil Fekir burst into the box before taking the ball past Carrasso and slotting home.
A fourth soon followed as Lacazette played in Jordan Ferri, who took advantage of more space in the vulnerable Bordeaux defence to beat a helpless Carrasso.
There was still time for the impressive Lacazette to help himself to a second goal with a powerful volley in the final minute.
