Monaco have got their Ligue 1 campaign off to a winning start against Bordeaux thanks to late goals from Emmanuele Riviere and Radamel Falcao.
The hosts nearly took the lead straight from the kickoff as Ludovic Obraniak tried to catch Danijel Subasic cold, but his shot was blocked.
Henri Saivet then saw a good opportunity go begging in the sixth minute.
Monaco settled into the game and nearly went ahead when Lucas Ocampos struck the woodwork in the 22nd minute, but it was new signing James Rodriguez who was causing most trouble in the first period.
The Colombian winger drove at the Bordeaux defence a few times, but lacked an end product.
The game looked to be heading for a draw until the 82nd minute, when a cross from the left fell kindly for Riviere and he fired past Cedric Carrasso.
Falcao then swooped five minutes later to seal all three points for Claudio Ranieri's men.
