Maccabi Tel Aviv have sprung a surprise 2-1 victory over Bordeaux in the Europa League this evening, with all three of the game's goals coming in the second half.
The first half played out with very little drama, as both sides failed to break each other down, apart from one freak incident that saw Bordeaux's Maxime Poundje loft in a cross towards the far post, which keeper Juan Pablo tipped against his own bar.
However, the second half was to be a much livelier affair as Bordeaux took the lead in the 48th minute when Jussie found space to head home after a good passing move.
The away side hit back in the 71st minute thanks to Barak Itzhaki, who tapped home following a ball across the box, much to the protest of Bordeaux who felt the player was offside.
Tel Aviv then took a surprise lead several minutes later as Dor Micha finished neatly from the left side of the box to give the away side a 2-1 win.
