Borussia Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc has revealed that the club is eager to hold talks with Ilkay Gundogan over a new contract.
The German midfielder's current deal with the Bundesliga side is due to expire in summer 2015.
However, with teams such as Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United said to be interested in the 23-year-old, Zorc admits that Dortmund are keen to open negotiations sooner rather than later.
"Of course, we are very interested in signing a new contract with Ilkay Gundogan," he told kicker-Sportmagazin.
"Due to the [back] injury that Ilkay Gundogan is out with at the moment, talks regarding a new deal have stalled, but we are keen to soon resume negotiations on a new contract."
Gundogan, who has eight international caps to his name, joined Dortmund from Nuremberg in 2011.
