Granit Xhaka has committed his future to Borussia Monchengladbach by signing a new contract with the Bundesliga club.
It was recently revealed that the Swiss midfielder had agreed to extend his current deal for another year, but Monchengladbach have now confirmed that the 22-year-old signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the option of an extra year.
"I feel comfortable at Borussia and am in my third season here. Therefore, there was never any doubt that I would extend my contract," Xhaka told the club's website.
"I'm proud and happy to be able to play for Borussia in the future."
Xhaka has made 65 Bundesliga appearances since joining from Basel in 2012.
