Botofogo edged into first place in the Brazilian league following an entertaining 3-3 draw against Internacional on Thursday.
The game itself was an end-to-end contest, with Vitinho for the hosts and Ignacio Scocco for Internacional both grabbing braces.
Internacional turned around the early deficit with a quickfire double from Scocco but were behind again through Clarence Seedorf's penalty and Vitinho's curled second.
However, Fabricio grabbed a leveller at the death to poke in from close range and get his side a share of the spoils.
