Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that his side put in a near-perfect performance in recording a 3-0 win at Cardiff City in the League Cup third round.
Three goals inside the opening 33 minutes were enough to help the Cherries through to the last 16, and Howe, who has seen his team fail to win in six Championship matches, believes that the triumph in South Wales will restore their confidence.
The 36-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "The performance was right out of the top drawer and the players were excellent. It has been a very good day for us.
"We beat a very good side comprehensively and that will give us a real confidence boost. The quality of our football was great to watch, even from my perspective I enjoyed watching it. You hope it can go as well as that when you plan a game."
Bournemouth return to league action on Saturday when they host Wigan Athletic.
