Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits that his side "needed to defend better" against Brighton & Hove Albion if they were to claim victory from the game.

Eddie Howe has admitted that his Bournemouth side must become more stable at the back if they are to drag themselves clear of relegation trouble.

The Cherries claimed a point from their trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday lunchtime after twice recovering from a goal down.

Bournemouth were behind inside just five minutes through Anthony Knockaert, while Glenn Murray also found the net early in the second half when smashing the ball past Asmir Begovic.

Howe could not hide his disappointment following the 2-2 draw, telling BBC Sport: "It's frustrating for us that we gave them goals at the start of both halves but the lads showed great fighting spirit to come back.

"The timing and the manner we conceded was disappointing. We had to work so hard, and it's been a feature of our recent games. It's good to see us scoring again, but we needed to defend better to win."

Bournemouth took their away goals tally in the Premier League to 50, with Steve Cook and Callum Wilson netting on the south coast.
