Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth went from despair to elation'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe talks of the rollercoaster of emotions he felt during the "crazy ending" to his side's 3-3 draw with Everton.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has said that his side went from despair to elation after they secured a thrilling point against Everton in a "crazy ending" at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries scored three times in the final 10 minutes to come from 2-0 and then 3-2 down and secure a 3-3 draw after Junior Stanislas's last-ditch strike had cancelled out what looked to be an injury-time winner from Ross Barkley.

Howe admitted that the match highlighted both the best and worst feelings that can come from a football match, and said that his side will not change the way in which they play.

"That was a crazy ending to a really competitive and tight game," he told BBC Sport. "The despair that we felt on conceding that third goal was as bad as I have known, and the elation at scoring our third was the greatest that I have known. It just shows what a powerful sport football is.

"It is unbelievable how football can play with your emotions. To score in the manner we did at the end was one of the biggest highs I have had in football. An incredible day, though this game is no good for your health! I'll be having an early night tonight.

"The character we showed today was excellent. We've shown our resolve and our willingness to improve, which we will need if we are going to get through this tough season. Ultimately, the results will define our season, but our supporters would not want us to change the way that we play, and we will not move away from our ideals."

Bournemouth sit in the relegation zone, but are unbeaten in their last two games since the recent international break ahead of a trip to Chelsea next weekend.
