Bournemouth have announced the permanent signing of Enes Unal from Getafe.

Unal joined the Cherries on loan in the winter transfer window, and subsequently helped the club achieve a record Premier League points total.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola said in April that the club would sign Unal on a permanent transfer after certain conditions in the loan deal were met.

Unal has joined for a fee in the region of £14m and has put pen to paper a four-year contract until the summer of 2028.

Unal "happy" to join Bournemouth on a permanent deal

"I'm so happy to be heading back to Bournemouth for the new season," Unal told afcb.co.uk. "I enjoyed testing myself in the Premier League while regaining my fitness, and now I am really excited for the years ahead.

"The project here is something I was keen to be a part of back in January, and I think that we have great potential together to improve further."

Unal spent the half of the season working on his fitness after returning from an anterior cruciate ligament injury in January.

The 27-year-old made 16 Premier League appearances following his arrival from Getafe, scoring his first Bournemouth goal in March's draw with Sheffield United.

Unal then got on the scoresheet in April's commanding 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Vitality Stadium.

Blake comments on first summer signing

Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: "We have been very impressed by Enes during his time with us over the past few months.

"His work rate and attitude have been exemplary following a long period of injury rehabilitation, and his desire to succeed in the Premier League has been clear to see throughout.

"He has proved to be a great addition to the playing squad here and we are delighted to confirm that he joins us on a long-term contract. We wish Enes all the best for the summer and look forward to welcoming him back in July."

Having been confirmed as a Bournemouth player, Unal leaves Getafe after scoring 36 goals and providing 10 assists in 109 appearances.

Before he focuses on next season, Unal could have a part to play in Turkey's Euro 2024 campaign, having been included in Vincenzo Montella's preliminary squad. body check tags ::
