Bournemouth have secured the services of Alessandro Cannataro on a one-year deal.
The former Inter Milan trainee had recently been linked with the likes of Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
However, following a trial period on the South Coast, the 20-year-old has earned himself a contract with Eddie Howe's newly-promoted Premier League side.
"Alessandro is very composed and reads the game well. He is a good footballer with an excellent pedigree and wouldn't have been at Inter Milan for that amount of time and captained their Under-19s if he wasn't," Bournemouth's Under-21 boss Stephen Purches told the Daily Echo.
It is expected that the midfielder will spend the majority of the season with the development squad at Dean Court.
