Bournemouth are reportedly targeting a £5m deadline-day move for Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.
The 33-year-old, who spent a season on loan with the South Coast side early in his career, is said to be hugely admired by Cherries manager Eddie Howe.
According to The Sun, Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce has sanctioned the move and is "working overtime" to get the deal across the line before the 11pm transfer deadline tonight.
Defoe spent much of his club career with Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 90 goals during two stints with the London side.
