Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari hails his side's positive start in their victory over Mexico.

Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has said that his side's positive start in their Confederations Cup victory over Mexico was the deciding factor in the game.

The Selecao boss admitted that the opposition dominated periods of the match, but believes that the home crowd unsettled them somewhat.

"Our start was fantastic. Then, Mexico turned it around and dominated us for a bit," Scolari told reporters.

"I would say we did very well. The entire team. I believe that the atmosphere from the fans here in Fortaleza spooked Mexico at the beginning of the match."

The Brazilian coach also conceded that his side struggled after Chelsea's David Luiz picked up an injury and had to leave the field for treatment.

"When David Luiz came off, we had problems. There was about a 25-minute stretch where we did not play well," he added.

"In the second half, we adjusted and it was a balanced game. Mexico risked more up front and we did not play as well as we did against Japan."

Brazil emerged 2-0 winners courtesy of goals from Neymar and former Manchester City and Everton forward Jo.
