Brazil have lodged an appeal against the yellow card handed to captain Thiago Silva in Friday night's quarter-final victory against Colombia.
The 29-year-old defender received his second booking of the tournament, meaning that he is automatically suspended for the Selecao's meeting with Germany in the semi-finals.
A FIFA spokesman said in a short statement: "I can confirm we have received an appeal from the CBF and this is being analysed."
All existing yellow cards have now been wiped clean, meaning that only those handed a straight-red card will be suspended should their side reach the final.
