Julio Cesar has said that Brazil have been given a confidence boost after winning their World Cup opener against Croatia.
The host nation came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory and Cesar has admitted that it was imperative they got their tournament off to a positive start.
"The first match is always very important, as if you win then it gives you confidence going into the second," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"If we had lost, the pressure would've been enormous and it all would have become much more difficult.
"[Luiz Felipe] Scolari was satisfied after the game. He is experienced and knows the atmosphere of the World Cup very well. He manages to transmit many positive things to the younger players."
Brazil will face Mexico in their second group match on June 17.
