Brazil captain Thiago Silva has said that the 2014 World Cup has been a good tournament so far "for those who like goals scored".
With the first round of fixtures almost complete, the tournament has averaged more than three goals a game, which Silva believes has been good for supporters across the globe.
"This is the World Cup of all World Cups for those who like goals scored," the defender told The Guardian ahead of the host nation's tie with Mexico earlier this evening.
"For those who like football, this is the World Cup. This is being shown in terms of numbers of goals. For a defender, that's not all good but I believe it's just part of football."
Shortly after Silva's comments, Brazil were held to a 0-0 draw by Mexico at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza.
