Brentford and Yeovil Town clashed at Wembley with a promotion to the Championship up for grabs.
Yeovil got off to the perfect start with Paddy Madden scoring a fine opener in the sixth minute and they extended their lead towards the end of the half through Dan Burn.
In the second half Brentford piled forward but an early goal from Harlee Dean was all they could manage as joy went to the Glovers.

Hello everyone and thanks for joining me for the main event in League One - the playoff final! Brentford take on Yeovil at Wembley with a place in the Championship up for grabs.
It will be a new experience for one of these sides - neither has ever succeeded in a playoff. Yeovil have failed on one attempt, while Brentford have yet to taste success from six tries.
To get to this point Brentford have knocked out Swindon Town and they did so after a thrilling 3-3 draw and a penalty shootout. Indeed they can count themselves unfortunate to have to even take this route, as a heartbreaking late defeat to Doncaster Rovers on the final day is all that stopped them going up automatically.
Yeovil went through after a solid home win against Sheffield United. They were 1-0 down from the away leg but used home advantage to take it 2-1 on aggregate with a late header from Ed Upson.
Before I ramble on, I'll bring the team news to you.
BRENTFORD XI: Moore; Logan, Craig, Dean, Bidwell; Forshaw, Adeyemi, Diagouraga; Donaldson, Forrester, Trotta
YEOVIL XI: Stech; Ayling, Burn, Webster, McAllister; Dawson, Edwards, Upson, Foley; Hayter, Madden
It could well turn into a battle between the two big scorers for each team. Clayton Donaldson has hit 20 league goals this season, including two vital ones against Swindon. For Yeovil, Paddy Madden has 23 in the league and both are on form. It will be really interesting to see which one rises to this afternoon's occasion.
The players are getting ready in the tunnel. What a big occasion for them.
An interesting aside to this game is the battle that is about to take place between two on-loan Fulham players. Marcello Trotta has scored six times, but remember it was his miss that allowed Doncaster to counter-attack and score - so he does have some making up to do. He will be up against Dan Burn, who has defied his age this season and has been a rock at the heart of the Glovers' defence.
Not long to kickoff now, I suppose I should make a prediction... Brentford will take this 2-1 for me. Only if they can keep Madden quiet, though.
KICKOFF: The Glovers kick us off, let's go!
A couple of early fouls to start this one, as probably to be expected. There's a nasty blow to the nose of Glovers captain McAllister, who is caught by Donaldson. That will look bad in the morning, but he's tough so will want to continue.
McAllister is finally up after receiving treatment and it looks as though he has been given the all-clear. Marek Stech restarts with the free kick.
GOAL! Brentford 0-1 Yeovil (Paddy Madden)
Craig is alert to block from Madden as the ball fell to the Irishman on the edge of the box. Good defending that, as the ball was hit hard and Madden is more than capable of firing loose balls into the net. And so he proves! The ball falls to him outside the box and he takes one touch before curling with the outside of his boot into the top corner. What a finish that is!
Yeovil had started the brighter team and they've done the right thing to take advantage of their pressure.
Uwe Rosler is not happy at all on the touchline. His side really need to get themselves in this before they go further behind. That's better as Diagouraga finds Forrester, and he then wins a throw.
Trotta has been isolated up top so far. In turn, that has meant Forrester and Donaldson either side of him have yet to have a say. Of course, it's just 12 minutes in so the Bees will have chances.
Forrester drives forward and his cross is partially cleared by the imposing presence of Burn. In comes Adeyemi with a header from quire far out, but it's a comfortable save. That's more promising from Brentford, though.
That's the first hint of Logan driving forward for the Bees, but his foray ends with a poor cross that goes for a goal kick. Nice flick from Trotta on the left flank to find Forrester, but Yeovil defend it well in the end and Luke Ayling wins the goal kick.
The game has finally settled in the last few moments. There hasn't been a real chance in recent minutes, but there has been plenty of panicked passing. Brentford are edging on top.
Yeovil now are sitting slightly deeper, looking to break, but the Bees back line has settled now and they are playing well. Forrester is penalised for a high boot on Ayling - the defender went in bravely there and was rewarded with a free kick.
Stech uses every inch of his giant frame to catch a free kick that was threatening to dip under his bar. That's about the most he's been tested here in the first quarter of this match.
Trotta is unmarked and meets a corner, but gets nothing on it which allows Yeovil to clear. It seems that Brentford's best chance currently to get back in this is through set pieces, of which they win another when a free kick is cleared behind.
... They try something from the training ground and pass it straight to a green and white journey. Poor. At the other end Yeovil win a free kick as Adeyemi brings down Edwards - but it was fairly soft, in truth.
Another free kick here for Brentford as Madden pulls off a striker's tackle on Dean, who had overrun the ball slightly. From it Burn gets enough of a touch on it to put it behind for a corner. Yeovil just about manage to clear, but the physicality of Brentford is starting to show.
Fantastic driving run from Hayter, who panics Craig then Logan before eventually running it out of play down the left hand side. A deep free kick comes in from the Glovers but Moore claims brilliantly some way out of his box.
Donaldson, who has been kept quiet so far finds a little bit of space down the right, but Logan's cross is too long after he was found by the striker. Stech absolutely thumps the resulting kick, but it's headed away from danger.
More blood here, this time it's Craig for Brentford. He's patched up and comes back on with a blank shirt.
Another poor delivery from Brentford, and Stech is able to gather. Brentford have seen more of the ball and have had many set piece situations but they have yet to test the Glovers keeper with a decent effort. Moore hasn't been worked a great deal more, but Madden is the difference at the moment.
More good work from Burn, who has really impressed. Logan looks for Forrester down the right, but the big defender is able to shepherd it out comfortably for a goal kick.
Burn causes trouble at the other end this time, nodding a corner back into the danger area, but the Bees survive with a goal kick. With five minutes left of the half I have to say another goal before the break does seem unlikely.
GOAL! Brentford 0-2 Yeovil (James Hayter)
I knew that would work! Fantastic driving run from Foley down the left. He rides a challenge from Logan before crossing to win a corner. From it, Burn again rises highest and Hayter gets a touch - it goes over the line despite Logan's attempted clearance. That's a big lead now seeing how the game has gone so far.
What a time to score for Yeovil. Brentford look stunned but they really have not been clinical enough. It's not clear who got the last touch on that goal and it could well go down as Burn's. He'd certainly deserve it.
Four minutes of time added on have been indicated here.
There's very little sign that the Bees will get back into this over the 90 minutes, let alone the next two. They're second to every ball at the moment and only Forrester has looked lively. Trotta heads goalwards from around the penalty spot, but it's comfortable for Stech.
HALF-TIME: Brentford 0-2 Yeovil
Well, it's been a story of chances taken in the opening 45 minutes here. Brentford have seen a lot of the ball but they have completely failed to penetrate. Yeovil, on the other hand, have the clinical Madden and the aerial threat of Burn, who has been superb at both ends.
Things will need to change for Brentford, and quickly. Another goal for Yeovil would surely wrap this up, but the Bees still have plenty of talent to get them back in it. They'll need an early goal, though.
Not too long until the second half now and I do expect Rosler to alter things. He needs to get Donaldson in the game more, so might consider moving him more central.
The Fulham loanee watch has certainly only gone one way so far. Burn has been the standout player in the game, while Trotta has really struggled to have an impact. The pitch is being cleared of the half time shenanigans and we'll be back underway soon.
KICKOFF: The Bees start us off for the second half.
No changes from either manager at the break. Brentford's tempo is already much better here as Bidwell drives down the left to earn a corner. From the corner Dean meets it but only manages to glance it wide of the far post.
Yeovil ride the early pressure and manage to get a short spell of possession, before running it out for a goal kick.
Good now from the Glovers. Upson and Hayter combine nicely in midfield before they look right to try to get the angle for an Ayling cross, but it's headed away for a throw. Brentford still looking to play more direct.
GOAL! Brentford 1-2 Yeovil (Harlee Dean)
Game. On. Donaldson is set away down the right and he does well to win a corner and from it Dean stoops, completely unmarked, to guide a header into the corner. That's just what they needed and now we have a contest on our hands.
Fantastic defending from Burn, who just nipped in ahead of Donaldson to flick the ball up and head it away. However Brentford come again but Adeyemi's pass to Logan is just out of play.
It's being played at a ferocious tempo, now. Still Brentford are doing all the pressing but there's a danger that Yeovil can use their pace on the break, as Donaldson puts in a great low cross but Forrester is merely jogging towards it.
Trotta, chasing a long ball, ends up fouling Webster. He just doesn't quite have the pace or strength needed when he's alone up front. It could come, however, as he is still young.
BRENTFORD SUB: Despite the real battling nature of this, there's still just the one real chance in the half. Trotta comes off and he's replaced by BRadley Wright-Phillips. Makes sense, that change.
CLOSE! Logan, who has been better this half, drives forward again. Eventually Forshaw shoots and earns a corner. Donaldson heads it towards goal - Stech makes a fine save and somehow Wright-Phillips cannot turn it in from the rebound!
BRENTFORD SUB: Yeovil win a corner in a rare foray forward, but the referee doesn't like the pushing and shoving from Burn. Forrester comes off for Sam Saunders.
CHANCE! Forshaw breaks into the box, wriggles past a few tackles but his low shot is comfortable for Stech. He could have done better there.
Saunders's first effort at a set piece is straight into the hands of Stech. Currently it is Brentford vs. Stech, though. I think there's another goal in this.
Logan intercepts and Brentford break. His cross is nodded away by Burn, who then pings a ball right on to the chest of Foley on the left. Eventually the move breaks down but this is better finally from them.
BOOKING: Dawson goes down in the box under a challenge from Craig - perhaps a little easily - and Andy D'Urso says no penalty. It's classed as a dive, which means a yellow for the winger.
YEOVIL SUB: McAllister is coming off again and this time he can't continue. Latvian Maksimenko, on loan from Brighton, comes on for him.
Still Brentford pile on the pressure. Crosses are coming in from all angles but they are all coming right back to them at the moment. It's excellent last-ditch defending from the leaders.
Foley drives forward and, seeing that he's been given an opportunity, shoots from about 30 yards but it bobbles well wide.
BRENTFORD SUB: Dean defends brilliantly to outmuscle Edwards. Paul Hayes comes on for Diagouraga in Rosler's last change.
Brentford pile forward again and Logan's cross this time is far too deep. That's the worst he's put in all half. They still haven't tested Stech enough.
Johnson is readying another substitute, but I think he's waiting to use them to waste a bit of time. More balls come into the box and eventually a tricky headed chance comes Wright-Phillips's way and he nods it over.
YEOVIL SUB: Hayter makes way for Matt Dolan. The striker understandably takes his time coming off, and this is a defensive move from the manager. The pressure is still on them, though.
CLOSE! Logan is camped in the Yeovil half now, but his left-footed shot from outside the box goes wide. He did have options there.
Donaldson is put through on the right. It looks a lost cause but he hooks in a cross that Stech palms over for a corner. Then from it the excellent Dean meets it again but can't guide it on target. Six minutes added on! That's a surprise.
There's seemingly no way through from any angle for Brentford. Saunders eventually takes matters into his own hands with a shot from range but it flies well over.
Time is rapidly running out now for Brentford. Have they had their last chance?
Still Yeovil are winning headers and hoofing it clear. I think that's it. Just 30 seconds left.
