Brentford have completed the signing of FC Twente defender Andreas Bjelland on a three-year deal.
The 26-year-old passed a medical late on Wednesday evening prior to agreeing personal terms, with the move set to go through subject to international clearance.
Bjelland, capped 21 times for Denmark at international level, has previously spent time working with Bees coach Flemming Pedersen, who himself recently made a switch to Griffin Park.
Speaking to the club's official website, Bees boss Marinus Dijkhuizen said: "I am very happy that we have brought Andreas to Brentford. He brings a lot of experience to the squad and that is good for us as we have a lot of young players.
"He is good defender but also likes to play football from the back. Andreas is also a Danish international and it is good for the image of Brentford FC that we can attract such players."
Brentford finished fifth in the Championship last season, before falling to a resounding 5-1 playoff semi-final defeat to Middlesbrough.
