Brentford are reportedly interested in signing Marseille left-back Renan Lodi.
The Bees recently made their first signing of the January window, recruiting 18-year-old midfielder Yunus Emre Konak from Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor.
While Konak is expected to start his Brentford career with the B team, the Bees are looking to strengthen their senior side following a poor run of form.
Having lost each of their last five Premier League matches, Thomas Frank's side currently sit in 16th place and just three points above the drop zone.
Frank has seen his side affected by a number of injuries this season, which has exposed a lack of depth in some areas of the squad.
The Brentford boss is seemingly keen to bolster his wing-back options, with Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry currently in the treatment room.
Hickey is expected to be out until at least February with a hamstring problem, while Henry is set to miss the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.
According to the Daily Mail, Brentford have made an enquiry about Lodi after identifying the Marseille left-back as a potential target.
Lodi has experience of playing in the Premier League after spending last season on loan at Nottingham Forest from Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian made 32 competitive appearances during his time at the City Ground, chipping in with one goal and one assist.
Following his stint in the East Midlands, Lodi returned to Atletico before completing a permanent move to Marseille in the summer.
The 25-year-old has been a regular fixture in the Marseille side this season, having featured in 23 matches across all competitions.
With Lodi under contract until the summer of 2028, it is currently unclear whether the French side will sanction a departure just six months after signing the full-back from Atletico. body check tags ::
