Championship side Brentford have cut short Jack O'Connell's loan at Rochdale with a little over a month of the season remaining.
The 21-year-old defender, who has spent plenty of time on loan at Spotland in the early stages of his career, returns to his parent club after turning out for the 100th time in Dale colours against Yeovil Town yesterday.
"We'd like to thank Jack for his outstanding service to the Dale cause during his time at Spotland, as well as wishing him the very best for the future," read a statement on the club website.
O'Connell, who joined Brentford from fellow Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers in February, scored his second goal of the season in yesterday's 2-1 win over struggling Yeovil.
