Queens Park Rangers forward Rob Hulse is expected to leave the club in the coming days.
The 32-year-old has scored just two goals in 25 appearances for the Hoops since joining from Derby County in August 2010.
Football League clubs will be allowed to sign players on loan again when the window reopens today and Hulse is believed to be among a host of players that are poised to depart Loftus Road.
According to The Mirror, League One side Brentford are at the front of the queue to land the well-travelled striker until Christmas.
Manager Mark Hughes may also be willing to allow DJ Campbell, Luke Young and Radek Cerny to find short-term moves.
