Brest have edged a step closer to relegation from Ligue 1 with a 2-0 home defeat to Sochaux.
Sloan Privat scored both goals for the visitors at Stade Francis-Le Ble in the second half.
The 23-year-old broke the deadlock in the 48th minute when he tapped in Giovanni Sio's cross from the left after finding himself with the ball following a mix-up between Bernard Mendy and Alexis Thebaux.
Brest thought that they had made it 1-1 just minutes later, but Florian Lejeune's header from a Mario Licka free kick was ruled out for offside.
The hosts went a man down in the 77th minute when Lejeune was sent off for a straight red card, and three minutes later Privat nodded home Rafael Dias's corner from close range.
The result leaves Brest at the foot of the table with 29 points from 36 matches, while Sochaux are four points clear of the relegation zone in 16th.
