Colin Calderwood has been appointed Chris Hughton's assistant manager at Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 50-year-old Scot has previously worked under Hughton at Newcastle United, Birmingham City and Norwich City.
Meanwhile, the Championship club has made five other appointments behind the scenes, including Antti Niemi as goalkeeping coach.
"I'm delighted Colin is coming in. He is someone I have worked with before, and I know him well, and we wanted to bring someone in of Colin's experience," Hughton told Brighton's official website.
"I know that he will work well with the existing coaching staff at the club and I think he'll be a very good addition to the coaching team."
Brighton are back in action on Saturday when they host Nottingham Forest in the Championship.
