Brighton & Hove Albion's latest signing Greg Halford has revealed that he intends to learn some centre-half skills from his new manager Sami Hyypia.
Halford joined the Seagulls on a month-long loan from Nottingham Forest last week and now expects to play at the back, with Lewis Dunk suspended and Aaron Hughes injured.
The 29-year-old has played in a multitude of positions in his career but thinks that as he gets older he will play more games in defence.
"I think that's where I will end my career, as a centre-back, so I'll be learning as much as I possibly can off [Sami] during my time here," he told the club website.
"I'm 29 now, but I'm certainly still learning things around football, and how football's run. I always take in as much as I possibly can and that will be no different while I'm down here."
Halford could make his full Brighton debut when they return to action after the international break at Norwich City on November 22.
