Brighton & Hove Albion have edged past Millwall with a 1-0 win in the Championship this afternoon, thanks to a first-half penalty from David Lopez.
Millwall were the first to threaten when Edward Upson unleashed a right-footed shot from outside the box, which narrowly evaded the top corner of Tomasz Kuszczak's goal.
The relegation strugglers came close again not long after when Shaun Williams saw his right-footed shot kept out of the bottom corner, as Polish keeper Kuszczak got across to make the save.
The Seagulls looked to respond through Dale Stephens, who watched his effort from distance fly just past the post, before Leonardo Ulloa's header was saved by David Forde at the bottom left corner of the Millwall goal.
The visitors took the lead just before the break when Jesse Lingard was upended inside the box, allowing Lopez to step up and convert neatly with his right from the spot.
Danny Shittu tried to pull Ian Holloway's side back into the game after the break, but his header from the centre of the box was saved at the bottom left corner by Kuszczak.
Millwall kept banging on the door, although most of their efforts came from distance, with Scott McDonald seeing a long-range effort kept out again at the bottom corner of the Albion goal.
Will Buckley looked to wrap things up with a late effort, but the Brighton substitute saw his shot curl just wide of the target.
