Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers play out a 1-1 draw in Saturday afternoon's Championship clash at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers have played out a 1-1 draw in this afternoon's Championship clash at the Amex Stadium.

The hosts began brightly as Craig Mackail-Smith rose inside the Wolves area to meet a cross from the right wing two minutes in, but he headed into the arms of Tomasz Kuszczak.

Beram Kayal was next to threaten as he was released into the Wolves area, but Richard Stearman's tackle did just enough to snuff out the danger.

Chances kept coming for both sides in the early stages as Joao Teixeira dragged his effort wide and Bakary Sako had his rebounded shot cleared off the line.

The pendulum never truly swung the way of Wolves as Brighton continued to press, Mackail-Smith pouncing on a misplaced backpass on the quarter-hour mark but firing wide from close range.

Despite both teams pushing forward at every occasion and firing efforts at will, neither could break the deadlock come the half-time whistle.

The end-to-end action continued after the restart, and on the hour Brighton had the ball in the back of the Wolves net through Mackail-Smith, but he was flagged offside.

Chris Hughton's charges succeeded in breaking the deadlock 10 minutes later, as Bruno pounced on a loose ball just inside the Wolves box to prod home.

Their lead didn't last long though, Rajiv van La Parra whipping a cross from the right flank in the 74th minute which David Stockdale failed to keep out.

Brighton set about trying to get back in front, as Kazenga LuaLua and Dale Stephens broke forward and fired towards goal. The latter's effort appeared to strike Stearman's arm, but the referee waved away the appeals.
