Sami Hyypia has accepted that the pressure is on him to deliver ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion's clash with Championship rivals Millwall on Friday evening.
Brighton are in the relegation zone after winning just once in their past 16 games, and Hyypia believes that the speculation surrounding his future is fair due to the team's recent form.
"Everyone knows it's a very important game and, of course, for me personally it's a very important game," the Finn told The Argus. "I try to put it to one side and concentrate on what I can control. I can't control people having their opinion.
"Whether it is going good or bad there are always critics and everyone has the right to give their opinion. I can't do anything about it.
"I just try to put it to one side and concentrate on my work."
Brighton will be without both Kazenga LuaLua and Gordon Greer for the game against Millwall.
