Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly agreed on a £20m fee with Bristol City for the transfer of defender Adam Webster.
Webster enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Bristol last season, making 44 Championship appearances in total.
The Seagulls have already broken their transfer record this summer by securing the services of KRC Genk winger Leandro Trossard for £18m.
According to Sky Sports News, that record looks set to be broken for a second time in this window after the two clubs agreed on a £20m fee for Webster.
The sum would also break the record transfer fee for a Championship defender, surpassing the £15m spent by Burnley on Ben Gibson last summer.
Brighton are also reportedly leading the race for Brentford striker Neal Maupay, who has attracted interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Sheffield United and West Ham United.
