Zach Clough has reportedly turned down a switch from Bolton Wanderers to fellow relegation-battlers Bristol City.
The 20-year-old striker is one of a number of players the Trotters have been looking to offload as they race to raise cash in time to pay a tax bill due on Monday.
Reports had suggested that Championship newcomers Bristol had had an offer of £2m accepted, although according to the Daily Mail, Clough himself has now rejected the move as he is not keen to join another side fighting the drop to League One.
Clough is also thought to be of interest to playoff-chasers Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are in the market for a striker following the sale of Benik Afobe to Premier League Bournemouth.
