Bristol City are expected to make a decision regarding the future of Derby County defender James O'Connor before the end of the week.
The 28-year-old still has one year remaining on his contract at Pride Park, but has been made available on a free transfer this summer.
He linked up with Sean O'Driscoll's side on trial last week, but it is unclear whether the right-back has done enough to secure a permanent contract.
A number of League One clubs are also believed to be monitoring developments, with little under two weeks of the transfer window remaining.
