Darrell Clarke has called on his Bristol Rovers players to have a little more faith in themselves as they seek a first win of the season.
The Pirates followed up their 1-0 reverse to Northampton Town on the opening day with a narrow 2-1 loss against Birmingham City in the League Cup.
Rovers now prepare to take on West Country rivals Yeovil Town on Saturday afternoon, and Clarke acknowledges the importance of picking up a first victory since their return to the Football League.
"Getting our first win of the season will be a big thing for us," he is quoted as saying by the Western Daily Press. "I have great belief in the players I have here and I just want them to believe in themselves a little more.
"We have a few lads who have not operated at this level before, but I know they have what it takes to handle it. They just need to show me that they can produce the sort of performances I know they are capable of on a regular basis."
Rovers follow up their local derby clash this weekend with fixtures against Luton Town, Barnet and Leyton Orient before the month is out.
