Supporters of Newport County and Bristol Rovers have clashed ahead of the game between the League Two sides, according to a report.
Several riot vans and a dog unit were needed to break apart fans, with a large police presence also in place.
A witness told the Bristol Post that followers of both teams came face-to-face, with a few scuffles breaking out around the Memorial Stadium.
The report also claims that around 30 Newport fans marched past the Queen Vic pub, which was full of Rovers fans, though police soon got hold of the situation.
Rovers currently lead Newport 2-0 at half time.
