Burnley have reportedly failed with an offer of £16m for West Bromwich Albion forward Jay Rodriguez.
The Clarets are yet to make a single first-team signing during the summer window, but manager Sean Dyche remains keen on adding to his squad before August 9.
Burnley have maintained an interest in former player Rodriguez since West Brom's relegation to the Championship, but it appears that the Baggies are prepared to remain patient regarding the 29-year-old.
According to The Telegraph, the West Midlands outfit have little intention of selling Rodriguez, with the plan to secure promotion back up to the Premier League without losing many of last season's squad.
Burnley could potentially return with a fresh offer in the coming days, but it may take a bid in excess of £20m to tempt West Brom into parting ways with the attacker.
