Burnley boss Sean Dyche has reportedly targeted a move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster after losing Nick Pope to injury.
The Clarets are expected to be without the England international for at least three months due to a dislocated shoulder sustained against Aberdeen last week.
With Tom Heaton also carrying a slight knock, signing a new keeper is said to have become a priority for Burnley as they attempt to balance domestic and European football.
According to The Express, Dyche has asked Southampton about Forster's availability, with a loan deal being seen as the ideal scenario.
The Saints are believed to be looking to get the 30-year-old and his £65,000-a-week wages off their books, having slipped behind Alex McCarthy and now Angus Gunn in the St Mary's pecking order.
