Burnley manager Sean Dyche has revealed that signing a midfielder is a top priority for the club ahead of the January transfer window.
Despite being favourites to go down before the start of the season, Burnley are currently just two points away from climbing out of the relegation zone, but Dyche believes that it is vital for the club to bring in reinforcements next month.
"We're looking to strengthen with the right players. There are certain areas that we possibly need to build further than others. We don't have great depth in central midfield," the Clarets boss told reporters.
"It's supply and demand, availability of players and those that fit the team but also the financial model of the club.
"There will be finance, we know that, but we've already seen the finance involved in the Premier League is considerable and it's how far the club want to go towards affecting that situation, if and when the right player comes available."
Burnley return to action against Southampton on Saturday.
