The Premier League has blocked Burnley from trying to sign Victor Moses from Spartak Moscow, according to a report.
Foreign players plying their trade in Russia have been granted special dispensation by FIFA to suspend their contracts and join overseas clubs outside the transfer window due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Moses is currently considered a free agent until June 30 as a result, and is on the lookout for a new club for the remainder of the season.
Sky Sports News reports that Burnley have made an approach to sign the 31-year-old on a short-term contract - a move which would allow the former Chelsea man to reunite with his family in England.
However, the Premier League has denied Burnley's request due to alleged concerns over the sporting integrity of the competition.
Moses remains in Moscow at the moment and could now look for alternative options, with leagues such as La Liga and the Championship having permitted players to join from Russian clubs on a short-term basis. body check tags ::
