Burnley have reportedly ramped up their interest in Maxwel Cornet by tabling a £12m offer for the Lyon left-back.
Clarets boss Sean Dyche admitted this week that he is eager to further strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes.
Cornet is one of those to have been touted as a target for Burnley, and The Sun claims that the Lancashire outfit are in prime position to land the 24-year-old.
Burnley's offer is said to be more than Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin offered, but Lyon have yet to decide whether to accept the bid.
Versatile wide man Cornet has registered 51 goals and 29 assists in 251 appearances for Lyon, where he has spent the last six years.
Dyche's side kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
