Ipswich Town have reportedly moved to the brink of securing a loan deal for Burnley forward Jonathan Walters.
The Republic of Ireland international has spent the last eight years of his career with Stoke City and the Clarets, but the attacker's best spell arguably came with Ipswich between 2007 and 2010.
Walters scored 32 goals from 146 appearances and it earned him a switch to Stoke, but according to Sky Sports News, the veteran is expected to spend a second period at Portman Road.
The report claims that Ipswich and Burnley are likely to finalise terms over a five-month loan deal before the end of the summer transfer window.
Walters remains on the periphery of Sean Dyche's squad at Turf Moor, while Ipswich are keen to strengthen after a poor start to their Championship campaign.
