Remi Matthews has targeted a regular place in Burton Albion's starting lineup after his fine goalkeeping display against Middlesbrough.
The 21-year-old joined the Brewers on loan from Norwich City earlier this summer to provide competition between the sticks.
Matthews produced a number of saves to deny Boro in Tuesday night's 2-1 League Cup defeat, including a sprawling stop to keep out Grant Leadbitter's deflected effort.
After making his third appearance for the club, the loanee is now ready to continue challenging Jon McLaughlin for the No.1 jersey at the Pirelli Stadium.
"I'm here to play games. How many that will be I don't know, whether that's 10 games, 20 games or 30 games," he told Burton's official website.
"You have a good No.1 here at the minute. Jon was excellent for the lads last season so we will have to see how we go. It wasn't just me against Middlesbrough. I know we lost 2-1 but I thought everyone was excellent. We were unlucky not to get something out of it.
"They came here to pressure us but we had a game plan, stuck to it and defended really well against a team pushing for promotion to the Premiership."
Burton have lost just one of their first four League One encounters, conceding four goals during that spell.
