Burundi have moved to the top of Group D in the African Nations Championship with a thrilling 3-2 win over Mauritania on Saturday.
Mauritania got off to the perfect start when Ely Cheikh Ould Voulany opened the scoring in just two minutes, but they were pegged back on 11 through Abdoul Razak Fiston.
That was the way it stayed until the break, but afterwards it was Burundi who got their noses in front thanks to a goal from Christophe Nduwarugira.
Again the lead lasted just nine minutes as this time Taghiyoullah Denna levelled for Mauritania, before Selemani Ndikumana scored at the death to give his side the win.
