Cape Verde have been denied their first ever win at a major tournament in a 1-1 draw with Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The stalemate has left both sides with two points from two games in Group A as hosts South Africa top the table with four points.
The Blue Sharks took the lead on 35 minutes as Platini's pace allowed the forward to surge into the box and clip the ball past the onrushing Nadir Lamyaghri.
However, Morocco saw their second-half dominance count in the 80th minute as Youssef El-Arabi fired in following Abdelaziz Barrada's run.
