Cardiff City have announced that they have terminated Guido Burgstaller's contract by mutual agreement.
The 25-year-old midfielder made just three appearances for the Welsh side since joining them from Rapid Wien in May.
The Austrian is now free to find another club.
"Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that Guido Burgstaller's contract has been terminated by mutual agreement. The player leaves Cardiff City with immediate effect," a statement on Cardiff's official website read.
"We would like to thank Guido for his contribution and wish him the very best for his future."
Cardiff have recently sold several players in an attempt to reduce their wage bill, with both John Brayford and Kim Bo-Kyung departing the club.
