Cardiff City chief executive Alan Whitely has confirmed that the Championship club are close to completing a deal for Cerezo Osaka winger Kim Bo-Kyung.
The 22-year-old, who is a full South Korean international, has also reportedly attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and Celtic.
However, Whitely told the BBC: "We're hopeful we'll be able to close that within the next few days. We think we've made good progress on the negotiations.
"Like all these things you always hesitate to say too much until the ink is on the paper. Obviously there's work permit issues as well but I think we've made pretty good progress this week."
Cardiff finished sixth in the Championship last season.
