Cardiff City have confirmed that Joe Mason has returned to the Welsh club after calling an abrupt end to his loan deal at Bolton Wanderers.
The striker initially agreed to spend the entire season at the Macron Stadium, but has returned to Cardiff after suffering a hamstring injury in December.
A statement on the Bluebirds' official website claimed that Mason, who is expected to be sidelined for two months, will continue his rehabilitation with Cardiff's medical team.
Mason found the back of the net four times in 14 appearances for Bolton.
