Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Kenwyne Jones on loan from Cardiff City.
The striker, who had been in action in the Gold Cup with Trinidad & Tobago earlier this month, had been expected to feature in the Bluebirds' pre-season friendly against Bournemouth this evening, but was left out of the squad amid speculation that he could be on his way out of the club.
According to The Sun, the Owls are considering asking to take the forward on a season-long loan from their Championship rivals, having previously had him on a temporary deal from Southampton in 2004.
Jones scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for Cardiff last season.
