Celta Vigo climbed up to eighth in La Liga as goals from Charles and Joaquin Larrivey earned them a 2-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.
Despite the result, it was Deportivo who created the better chances at the Riazor and they came close to breaking the deadlock early on when Ivan Cavaleiro dragged a shot just wide of the post.
Celta were forced onto the back foot for much of the first half and only some impressive goalkeeping kept them on level terms as Sergio Alvarez denied both Oriol Riera and Celso Borges.
The deadlock was broken in the opening minute of the second half when Fabian Orellana found the space to deliver an inviting cross for Charles, who headed home from close range.
Deportivo piled on the pressure after falling behind, but wasted their best opportunities to find an equaliser as Lucas Perez's low effort was tipped wide by Alvarez, before Riera rattled the crossbar after latching onto a loose ball in the box.
The hosts were then dealt another blow when Alberto Lopo was dismissed for a second yellow card, and Celta capitalised to secure the points thanks to Larrivey, who won possession on the edge of the box before slotting past Fabri.
