Ronny Deila has admitted that his team were "a little frightened" during their Champions League tie against Maribor this evening.
The Scottish champions lost 1-0 in Glasgow this evening, knocking them out 2-1 on aggregate.
"I think the first half wasn't good enough. In the end there is only one thing and that is we were not good enough. We were a little frightened," the manager said in quotes released through the team's Twitter feed.
"We lifted ourselves in the second half but they scored with their first chance. This is a hard feeling. There are no excuses.
"I understand the fans' anger. We haven't been good enough. We want to be in the UCL but Europa League is a good competition. I think we are better now than in Legia but when you have chances and you don't take them there are no excuses."
Celtic will face Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
